Story of my life
The idea that true strength means never needing anyone is a myth. Instead, securely attached people balance closeness and independence.

From where it began
My entire journey revolved around one goal: to be a change maker!
It started off as a lawyer working in family courts - helping distressed women seeking help. I helped them get whatever they needed (get out of an abusive marriage, seek alimony, etc.). However, despite these legal victories, something always felt incomplete. I didn't feel like I was giving them proper justice.
JUSTICE! That's what I always seeked for everyone. With time, I came to this realization that true healing doesn't come from legal battles alone. All it ever took was one heartfelt conversation with any individual for me to tell what they were truly going through. And it always came down to the part - "Divya! I think you are meant to heal others."

Turned into profession
From a lawyer to an attachment-based Experiential Therapist.
My journey of being a psychologist started back in 2020. I came across this book by Lori Gottlieb titled 'Maybe You Should Talk to Someone' that gave me a deeper glimpse into the transformative power of therapy. It began as a casual read but eventually turned into a catalyst for self-discovery, bringing me to this realization that healing happens when people feel truly seen and heard. Soon after, a conversation with a close friend helped me name what I was feeling - he said he could already see the staircase I was beginning to climb toward becoming a therapist. That moment planted a seed.
This led to me pursuing a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Amity University in 2022.
Today, I practice as an attachment-based experiential therapist, rooted in the belief that deep, lasting change begins with connection.

Journey of my life
A Psychologist, a Wife and a Passionate Therapist.
My journey has been shaped by a deeper understanding of human emotions, relationships, and personal growth.
Law and Psychology: Laying the Foundation
After pursuing law and psychology, I gained a unique perspective on how emotions and behaviors play an intersectional role in our relationships. Instead of just taking sides or focusing on blame, I explored the deeper emotional needs of both individuals - helping them move forward with understanding and connection.
Marriage and Personal Growth
The understanding of relationship dynamics deepened after my marriage - not just as a therapist but as a partner. The belief that relationships thrive on emotional safety, trust, and communication got reinforced.
Gottman & EFT: Transforming My Practice
Gottman & EFT allow me to work with couples at both the intrapsychic and interpersonal levels - where clarity, connection, and healing go hand in hand.
Founding Alumaura
With a vision to create a space where healing meets connection, I founded Alumaura. It's not just a practice, but a space where individuals and couples can become emotionally attuned to themselves and one another. At Alumaura, we explore attachment needs, de-escalate the emotional dance that they are caught in, and create new relational experiences. Because true self-regulation isn't learned in isolation rather nurtured through connection.
